Since the dawn of time, humans have contemplated our purpose and our Creator. A strand of nonbelievers (atheists) has been embedded with every passing society but has been growing in our current society with greater vigor and conviction as the more enlightened ones who are the true proprietors of science, knowledge, and keys to our future progress. So let these writings here be a bulwark to nonbelievers and a proponent to believers in God as the much more rational, enlightened, and sound pathway to pursue for individuals and societies.
To begin making a compelling case in the belief of a God versus no God, let’s first examine our existence and everything we know. If existence and everything we know is GOOD, then this would be compelling evidence for a Godly Intelligent Designer. If existence is indifferent or irrelevant, then atheists would have a stronger case (but existence itself does reveal creation, and everything exists from a preceding thing). If existence is bad, then evidence would reveal a diabolical designer.
From observing and studying existence (via sciences), we can easily witness and understand the infinite beauty abound within it. Beauty is better than no beauty—would anyone dispute this? Therefore, if beauty is better than no beauty, then beauty is GOOD. And GOOD is evidence of an Intelligent Designer because GOOD cannot derive from that which is nothing. Seeing all the beauty abound within our universe is the fundamental pillar to rationally conclude the existence of a God. Studying all the sciences will reveal the beautifully ordered universe following universal laws of energy, mass, motion, cause-and-effect, balance, coordination, and harmony endlessly creating and destroying to create again (“beauty from ashes” adage.) The universe is a symphony of orbiting existences all going through birth-growth-death in different mediums and forms all following universal laws and order. How the big bang exploded into a synchronized orchestra of infinite perpetual creation is incomprehensible and far too remarkable to be a coincidence of nothing—the opposite of which is far too illogical and, simply put, a little naive.
Now let’s dive deeper into the infinite and immeasurable beauty abound within the universe and the inquisitively enormous complexities of it all—further demonstrating the inconceivable amazement and proof of an Intelligent Designer. Ponder, for a moment, all the different KNOWN elements (hydrogen, helium, lithium, carbon, etc.), which combine with each other to form infinite substances of air, earth, fire, and water. Amazing. Supernovas spawning complex elements throughout the universe hitting earth to provide humans more elements to create more and more complex inventions (nuclear energy, computers, smart phones, etc). How about the countless different species of animals and plants? Moons orderly orbiting planets orbiting stars orbiting galaxies orbiting something else. Electrons orbiting the nucleus combining to create cells orbiting around our body’s heart. All the perfectly ordered sciences of the universe—mathematics, chemistry, physics, astronomy, etc.. Yet boundless wonder and marvel remain far beyond what we already know through sciences including the remarkable power of the mind and energy.
To further reveal the abundance of beauty (GOOD) everywhere, let’s point to a few universal examples of beauty with such exquisite complexities (of which there are infinite examples)—each awe inspiring and so moving to anyone willing to take notice and begin to understand. The celestial stars in the night sky displaying a splendor of sparkling light; sunsets and sunrises painting our skies with a brilliant glow; solar and lunar eclipses magically colliding dark and light; our earth beaming full of life when viewed from outer space; our vast oceans breathing in-and-out with each wave; mountains and canyons being shaped perfectly over time by the Great Artist’s chisel; jungles and forests being cultivated with a smorgasbord of seeds generating an explosion of plants and animals; the human anatomy stitching together the delicate brain, heart, eye and all to create the miracle of us with all our senses; the female body (undoubtedly a work of Art); and all the different colors, tastes, feelings, scents and sounds (music) to endlessly astound us everyday.
The perfectly balanced, correlated, coordinated universe harmoniously moving all its parts is far too beautiful and unfathomable for us to comprehend. Our sun shining down light, energy, and life for our earth to grow and flourish from all its seeds; giving life to plants and animals balanced between CO2 and O2; evaporating water to rain down to nourish and clean all things. Our sun leading with gravity to guide and perfectly spin our earth around its orbit creating our days and seasons. Earth providing all the necessary materials for man to endlessly build and create inventions and structures—wood, stone, bronze, copper, steel, concrete, uranium, rare-earth materials, fire, coal, oil, gas, etc. Plants and animals symbiotically balancing each species (more worms create more birds to reduce worms’ growth, etc.).
To finalize the indisputable case for an Intelligent Designer—based on the simple principle of that which is right has might—the overwhelming majority of renowned pioneers, leaders, and scientists (YES—our most intelligent scientists!) throughout history have been strong believers—not nonbelievers. The closer you are to truth, the more powerful you are to understand how things really work, and then to influence others. People are naturally drawn to truths—not falsehoods (another innate example of a God’s presence in us).
Seek any list of the most prominent pioneers, leaders, or scientists throughout history and you will notice almost all are believers in God. This reveals the power of believing in God, which is truth, to propel individuals further in life. A sample list of the most prominent pioneers throughout history who were (are) God believers—Lewis & Clark, Cornelius Vanderbilt, J.P. Morgan, Thomas Edison, John D Rockefeller, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, and Jeff Bezos. A sample list of the most prominent leaders throughout history who were (are) God believers—Ramses II, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Alexander the Great, Moses, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Confucius, Otto Von Bismark, Otto I the Great, Constantine the Great, Muhammad, Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, William the Conqueror, Joan of Arc, Charles V, Martin Luther, Charlemagne, Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr, John Kennedy, Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, and Mother Teresa.
And finally, a sample list of the most intelligent and renowned scientists of all time (most accompanied with quotes to highlight the conviction in their beliefs) to enlighten all those remaining nonbelievers beyond any reasonable doubt of the existence of God:
- Charles Darwin (surprised?)
- Leonardo da Vinci (arguably the smartest person ever known)
- Galileo Galilei
- ” God is known by nature in his works, and by doctrine in his revealed world”
- Isaac Newton
- ” We account the Scriptures of God to be the most sublime philosophy. I find more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible than in any profane history whatever”
- “God created everything by number, weight and measure.”
- Nicolas Tesla
- ” The gift of mental power comes from God, Divine Being, and if we concentrate our minds on that truth, we become in tune with this great power. My Mother had taught me to seek all truth in the Bible; therefore I devoted the next few months to the study of this work”
- Albert Einstein
- “A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty – it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man”
- “I believe in Spinoza’s God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists.”
- “The most beautiful and most profound experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms – this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness.”
Simply put—believing in God is truth, immensely rational, and extremely helpful and powerful to lead others and society into the future.
